Techniczne Zakłady Naukowe w Dąbrowie Górniczej

Techniczne Zakłady Naukowe (TZN) is a vocational/ technical school with over 40-year-old tradition. 70 highly professional teachers work with nearly 700 students aged 15-20. We offer vocational education in professions belonging to the group of high-tech. Our students can learn in 5 divisions: electronics, mechanics, IT, electricity and advertising.
The above mentioned 4-year and 5-year programmes combine vocational training with theoretical education (e.g. in modern languages: English, German; mathematics; information technology, drawing, advertisement) and lead to the receipt of a diploma confirming vocational qualification and matriculation certificate upon passing national examinations.
TZN tries to prepare a better educational offer tailored to specific needs of the region and the European labour market, as well as provide each learner with widely- understand holistic tutoring. The idea of cultural education is an integral part of the school policy. Every year our students participate in various thematic educational programmes aimed at propagating the cross-cultural appreciation of the local, national and European culture, history and heritage, e.g. historical contests, photographic contests, educational trips to historical places. To bring our students the European identity closer and to sensibilise them to widely understood the cultural otherness, our staff together with foreign artists organise so-called cultural workshops and lectures (The Chinese Day, European Language Days, World Book Day etc).
Since 2010, Techniczne Zakłady Naukowe has participated in a few EU programmes and projects (e.g. LdV, VETPRO, strategic partnerships, KA 1 and KA 2 within Erasmus+) which have provided our teachers & students with social and cultural opportunities as well as adequate vocational training. We organise workshops with local/international artists (eg. from China and Canada), our students can develop their artistic skills in the music club, a photo club etc.The school is located in the south of Poland in an attractive region but densely populated and with industrial traditions, in a big town surrounded by a few villages. Some of students come from poor rural areas. Thanks to the project, the school community (both students, their parents& educators) will have an opportunity of improving and acquiring new competences as well as developing skills. It’s a chance to learn more about European culture through art, music, customs, history, games etc.
This project’ll also help us and our students become aware of the importance of using their creativity, potential and talents. Our project team will consist of:2 advert teachers (specialists in advert making, photography, handcrafts, film producing); 2 lg teachers (teachers of English and German); 2 IT teachers ( responsible for preparing visual/digital materials for the project). In case any person leaves his/her post, the headmaster together with project team will appoint other person willing to work.

Dąbrowa Górnicza – Techniczne Zakłady Naukowe  Are you curious about our school and the city in which it is located? If so, please read on.  Our school is huge, it consists of several interconnected buildings that form a real maze for people who enter it for the first time. In addition, we have a swimming pool in it, ideal for physical education! About 800 students study with us in many different fields: IT, electronics, advertising organization and many others. We develop our passions during soldering, welding or forklift courses. During the summer holidays, many students do internships that prepare them for later work. We have two gyms that allow you to develop your interests related to sport. The large auditorium allows for the organization of events where our students can show their talents. Everyone will find something for themselves and certainly will not be bored. We have a nice and friendly atmosphere.  It is also worth mentioning that our school is located in Dąbrowa Górnicza, where we can find many interesting places. In my opinion, the Zagłębie Palace of Culture is worth your attention. It is an example of a socialist realist building that you cannot pass by indifferently.  In addition, it is also worth paying attention to Pogoria Lake. On hot days, you can take a bath in it and play beach volleyball. Water sports are also widely available there. When it gets colder, we can see many people walking, cycling or rollerblading. It is a charming place.  Dąbrowa Górnicza can also be proud of interesting parks, the most beautiful of them, and at the same time quite large in size, is Green Park. It has recently been renovated and again impresses with its former splendor. It is perfect for a walk all year round.  If someone likes hiking, it is worth going to Strzemieszyce. There is Magpie Mountain almost 330 meters above sea level. We will have the opportunity to see caves, rock cliffs or deciduous forests cut by numerous deep ravines. It is also an interesting place for amateurs of mountain biking.  If you are interested in monuments, you should not forget about the water mill located in Okradzionów. Its history dates back to the mid-nineteenth century, and to this day is one of the main attractions on the green trail, leading along the paths of the so-called Zagłębie Switzerland.  One should not forget about the attractions located on the edge of Dąbrowa Górnicza, namely the Błędowska Desert. It is the largest area of quicksand in Poland with an area of over 730 hectares. One of the legends says that it was  made of sand scattered by the devil, which wanted to fill the silver mine in Olkusz. Even at the beginning of the 20th century, sandstorms and the mirage phenomena could be observed there. Hope you enjoy visiting us now.
