Vihdin lukio – Finland

coordinator of the project

In Finland we visited a lot of interesting places but we also got to know a bit of a different country. My host family received me very nicely. On the first day we went to the ski jumping world championship in Lahti. The next day we visited the school and participated in some lessons, for example, English lessons. On the third day there were games where we got to know people from other countries and there were presentations of each country about actors and directors. I was also in the sauna in the evening. On the next day we were on an excursion until the afternoon. We visited the science center Heureka and the candy factory Fazerila. The food in Finland was good, especially the sweets. On the fifth day the director came and narrated. Later, we learned to play the ukulele and kantele (kantele is a Finnish instrument). Then, we played a floorball match. Before the last day there were presentations about each country and the project’s conclusion. On the last day we visited Helsinki, the capital of Finland where we spent the whole day. We visited the Ateneum, the museum of photography and the Kiasma, and then we had free time to explore the city on our own. The family that hosted me was very cool and I didn’t miss anything. I enjoyed it very much and hope to return to Finland again someday.
